Century 21 Lethbridge

Over the past couple decades there have been a couple different Lethbridge Century 21 offices come and go locally.  There was a time when Century 21 was one of the industry leaders in the US real estate marketplace.  Their 'Gold Jacket' was not only a recognizable trademark but a bit of an icon for the industry.  Since that wardrobe item became a bit out of style, the brand franchise has not had the same recogniztion it once had.

Several years ago I was approached to take on the Local franchise for Lethbridge Century 21.  At the time, the company sales people were quick to point out to me that they are a leading brand globally, that they have offices in 15 gadjillion places, etc.  Lots of statistics, but nothing that really got my attention.

Lethbridge real estate market is a small and local market despite the recent growth of the city.  We do not get a lot of referrals from large marketplaces like Toronto or Vancouver.  We get far more business from rural southern Alberta who are urbanizing into the City of Lethbridge.  My decision to not take on the Century 21 Lethbridge franchise at that time was based mainly on that fact.

So my little office, which has had as many as 5 agents working for me at one time as well as a property management division and also a full time renovation crew, still stands and a locally owned independant brand.  We like it that way and so do our clients.
